Microsoft putting anti Firefox ads in the start menu?

Microsoft is putting anti-Firefox ads on the start menu. This could be construed as anti-competitive practice. They want everyone to use Microsoft Edge instead of Firefox. I bet they hate Google Chrome as well. But their operating system is plagued by buggy horrible updates that always break key components like Windows Search and Explorer. So they do not even have a good base to build their case. They want to take over the world with a substandard operating system. But that is what you get when you build on an old code base and just keep on adding more and more code. It gets out of hand. But the Linux kernel is a massive code base and it is managed better. Unfortunately, Linux has Systemd now, and Pulseaudio, but it can be worked around. If only they could have just one sound system instead and fix the latency issues for music creation and mastering. Linux is still more reliable than Windows though, Windows has to reboot after every single update. Linux can keep on working after installing updates, you only need to reboot to load a new kernel. And you have free choice of web browser to use, whether the user prefers Opera, Chrome or Firefox. This is freedom of choice.

Redmond needs to remember that. This is very important. I have installed Windows 10 in a Qemu KVM Virtual Machine, and I am going to have a look at this myself. This is very interesting. I want to look at Windows 10 now, but I am not going to install it as a default operating system for any reason, even after the support period of Windows 8.1 expires, it would still be far more useful than 10. It does have Windows Services for Linux, that is an old idea though, going way back to the days of Windows Services for UNIX. Windows Server 2008 had a package that could be installed that would provide a csh UNIX shell. So it is an old addon for Windows, that has been reborn with the release of Windows 10. The developers took suggestions from the users as to what should be included in the operating system, but have failed to include security and stability. At least Windows Subsystem for Linux allows a choice of distribution to install.

This is a pretty good selection, I hope you can install Ubuntu Server, but it does not matter, this is one good feature of Windows 10, despite all of the update woes, it has one good feature. Kali Linux would be very useful, I am not sure if you could bridge a WIFI adapter to the Virtual Environment. This would be very good for testing wireless networks, otherwise, it would be better to use VMWare instead. Is this even better than using a Virtual Machine like VMWare? I mean you can run Apache web server in Ubuntu and develop and test web sites, so that is OK, but I am divided on this. Is Microsoft using this to try and kill off desktop Linux by including it as a store app? I installed Kali Linux in WSL, but it comes with a very bare minimum of installed programs. I had to run sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade to install more programs. You cannot load a graphical environment, this limits what you can do with the installed operating system, so it makes little difference which is installed. This could be a case of Embrace, Extend and Extinguish in this situation, once people get used to a walled garden, then Microsoft could try and kill off desktop Linux.
