Windows computers make me rage.

Computer rage guy.

Windows computers are very annoying indeed, always finding some way to annoy and inconvenience the users, I can not imagine why Windows is still such a pile of doo-doo when they have  had more than 10 years since the release of Windows XP to get it right and get the security framework in place, but instead, we get abominations like UAC on Windows Vista and Internet Explorer that only serve to annoy users and open your computer to malware and viruses respectively. At least Firefox 3.6.13 is available and also the Popular Ubuntu distribution of Linux to provide a more secure operating environment. Although I would prefer to run a Fedora Core Live CD, as they offer more security and firmware out of the box for Wireless devices on laptops. Some versions of Windows, like Windows Vista Enterprise, are very slow at loading the desktop up again when you log out and then log back in again, and I have lost count of the number of PC’s I have seen that are out of service due to crashes and viruses and are unusable. I saw a machine in a mall one day that is a vending machine for hiring DVD’s and it had a screen at the top that shows previews or something and it was running Windows XP and the player software had crashed.

But for Windows XP that is not too surprising at all. The KDE 4.5.2 desktop with Fedora Core 14 is lightning fast and drops on Windows from a great height, I prefer it to Gnome now, that is saying something. KDE has always been a good desktop, it just needs to improve on the speed it runs at and make sure the KDE team can deliver a very fast and unified desktop environment, that will make it a more worthwhile desktop environment for Linux operating system. The image to the right shows a situation that Windows XP can put you in, i.e corrupting system files and making the system unbootable.

Windows XP fail. That is a joke when that can happen, a more secure system and a better file-system would help in that regard. This version of Windows is not as bad as Windows `98, some visitors to my website still use that although most of the traffic is Windows XP and Windows Server 2008 is second, I get hardly any traffic from Windows 7, but a heap from Linux and that is what my website is about after all.
