The Enlightenment E17 window manager is very, very good. This is a nice alternative to the bloated Gnome desktop interface. It has its own file manager and utilities such as a sound mixer. There are multiple desktops by default as well as desktop gadgets and looks very nice indeed.

Below is a screenshot of the Enlightenment E17 desktop with Desktop Gadgets and Mixer open. The Sysinfo gadget is a nice way to see CPU usage and the analog clock is also very nice.

I just wish the old Enlightenment E16 Aliens theme would make a comeback. This was very nice to have on an old Linux desktop. This is what it looks like: https://themes.effx.us/preview/e16/Aliens.png. Download this old theme here: https://themes.effx.us/packages/e16/Aliens.etheme. E17 needs to have some cool old themes like this. it was something different for sure, but very good-looking. Just look at the themes available here: https://themes.effx.us/#. These are very nice indeed. Enlightenment was so nice in the older versions and these old themes need to come back. I wish there was a way to convert the old themes to the modern format.
