New transistor can interface with living tissue.

Deus Ex.
Deus Ex.

Scientists have created a novel new transistor that can interface with living tissue. This will lead naturally to cybernetic implants rather like those in Deus Ex, with many positive implications for medicine. Allowing cybernetic eyes for the blind to help them see as well as better bionic ears for the deaf, we could be like the Borg in the future, and if the cybernetic enhancements available in reality end up being the same as in the game then we are in for quite an interesting future. There are some interesting comments here that are for and against this concept. http://au.gamespot.com/pc/action/deus-ex-human-revolution/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-60262222&pid=944090. These transistors use the body`s natural processes to communicate and obviously are a step up from older technologies used in implanted technology like pacemakers. The future would be like Ghost in the Shell, with humans getting a full cybernetic body and possibly keeping their human brain and interfacing it with an artificial body giving them superior strength and endurance.
