The Hotmail service has gone through a rough patch at the moment, the service is now unavailable and will be for some time for many users. This is not a good thing if you had Ebay and other services linked to this account and you can not log in at all, there are many users posting comments in the above link that are suffering at the moment that are not very happy at all. They are doing the right thing and contacting customer service and giving their information to Microsoft, but this does not help at all. Hotmail could have been hacked for all we know, this is not good, but considering the track record that Microsoft [] have on security, this is not surprising, users have reported that their accounts are unavailable and if they reset the password and try to log-in again , they get the same message saying that someone has entered the password too many times and they can not log in to their accounts. This needs to be fixed soon, but we will have to wait and see how this pans out and if it affects Redmond at all. Many people rely on having an E-Mail address and losing it would be a huge inconvenience to say the least. If you have accounts with websites that send your username/password to Hotmail and you could not access it you would have to try and remember the password instead of just opening your E-Mail and getting the information. Perhaps they should all move to Gmail or some other provider instead. They would care more about the customer than the Windows Live team seem to at the moment.

More comments here: [] These people are not happy either, but no-one would if they had to put up with Microsoft products and services. Many have filled in the form to prove their identity but to no avail. This needs to be spread all over the Internet, then maybe something will be done.
