The Powershell console is now available on Linux with the advent of the Pash console. This allows a Linux user to use Powershell commands on Linux just as they do in Windows. The screenshot I have included shows the usage of the Powershell Get-PsDrive cmdlet. This would be a very powerful tool for administering Windows servers or desktops from a Linux laptop. A very promising and useful component to add to your Linux installation. I wonder if the extra cmdlets added to Windows 8 and Server 2012 will be added to Pash over time. The Get-NetAdapter cmdlet is very useful for getting information about your network adapters in Windows 8. Linux can only get better over time if they add more systems administration tools such as this to the repertoire of command-line utilities. Get this shell from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pash/. Build this with Monodevelop and you may then try out Powershell commands on Linux.
